U.S. Women Win Gold

Hello and the recap of the Gold Medal Match for you!

Two days ago in the Olympics the U.S. Women traveled to one of the greatest soccer stadiums in the world, Wembley Stadium. Yes, it was the rematch of the 2011 World Cup Final match when the U.S.A. got up to a 3-1 lead and ended up loosing in penalties. With that loss still fresh in the minds of the players, they really wanted to win this one. The game started off good for the United States, they had lots of energy in the first 15 minutes. The future of U.S. Womens soccer Tobin Heath dribbled the ball down the side of the field, then laying it off to Alex Morgan. Morgan let it role to the end line before crossing it back in, to the head of Carli Lloyd. Lloyd ran write infront of Abby Wambach's foot and headed it in. Then later on in the game, the second half I think, Lloyd got the ball again then took a few touches, before having a great strike across the field into the left side-netting. There was no chance for the Japanese goalkeeper. Now the U.S. had a two goal lead, but Japan caused many great saves from Hope Solo. Finally for Japan, one went in after a kind of scramble right infront of the goal. Japan was not done yet. They caused Solo to make more great saves. The game did end with the United States Winning 2-1! Thats back to back gold medals for the U.S. Womens team.

Thanks for reading today come back tomorrow!
