Manchester City Always Buying

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you! Today some news and my Euro 2012 semifinal predictions!

Firstly in La Liga news, Atletico Madrid will not be looking to sell one of their best strikers, Radamel Falcao. Who else would be looking to buy him but Manchester City. Now Manchester City is rumored to be going for Arsenal's Captain Robin Van Persie, and Napoli's Edinson Cavani.  Falcao helped Atletico Madrid win the Europa League last season with two goals in the final match! Didier Drogba is rumored that he might leave the Chinese Club, Shanghai Shenhua to Barcelona! He is going to meet with them very soon. I would be surprised if he went to Barcelona, because I think he is way to old to join the team. Also, they do not really need him. In very boring Premier League news the Arsenal Striker Marouane Chamakh (He is a striker? He does not play like one!) will not be returning to his former club Bordeaux! The Bordeaux president confirmed that just a few days ago.

Now for my semifinal predictions! First we have Italy vs Germany! I think Germany should handle this one pretty well! Germany has won every game so far and outplayed each team in every game they've played. I really see Germany winning this even thought there is a chance Bastian Swienstieger could be out! Germany still has Kroos of the bench and even for options, it depends how creative you want to get! Germany takes this one 2-0 advancing to the finals!

Next it is Spain vs Portugal! This should be a better game, but I still think the defending champions should win this match! Spain just has way too much possession and that's what Portugal needs. Portugal needs time to work the perfect chance! The only way Portugal will have a chance is with their counter attack, because they te a speedy team! I have this one going to extra time and Spain winning 2-1! Spain advancing to the finals!

Well that's it for today, sorry that it was a little late!

Oh, Ashley Cole :(

Hey!! Sorry for not posting a blog yesterday, I was traveling. But now I am back home on my nice little computer. Unfortunately I will be travinling again on Wednesday, but I will try to keep writing as much as I can! I did not get to see the Euro Match today, because as well all know, I was stuck in a car for a while! But I've heard that Italy totally outplayed England and lead the stats by a huge margin. Itlay had 31 shots to England's 8! Also, Itlay had 63 percent of the possesion. Itlay probably should have won in regulation, but it went all the way to penalty kicks. I saw replays of the game last night and thought that Ashley Cole's penalty was very very dissapointing. It seemed to have no power what so ever on it and it seemed to be placed in a easy spot to get, not matter the power! Italy went on to win 4-2 in penalties. Even though I was for England and do not really like Italy I was happy for my frequent blog reader "Dream Boy" who likes Itlay a lot! Italy moves on to the semifinals to face the very strong German side!

*EURO 2012 BY THE NUMBERS*
500, Step Overs Ronaldo has attempted
5, Step Overs Ronaldo has Completed
70 Good Chances Fernado Torres has had
2 Goals Fernado Torres has actually made
30 Times Mario Balotelli has tried to kill somebody or yell something mean (sorry dream boy)
100 Times I have walked around my house yelling "Schweinsteiger"

Speaking of Bastian Schweinsteiger, there is rumor that he will miss the semifinal game, because he has had a sore ankle since February! He has helped Germany greatly in the midfield and if he does miss it will be a big blow to the German side!

Well that is it for today! Hope to have a longer blog tomorrow!

Really Boetang???

Well I'm back to writing from my horrible blogger app! Yesterday I was so close to my amazing prediction until Boetang rudely ruined it!!

In the Quarter Final game yesterday Germany's head coach decided to rest Mario Gomez, Thomas Mueller, and Lukas Podolski! Some say he was just mad at Mueller and Podolski's performance and just resting Gomez. Some say he was just resting all three. And the even weirder people said this maybe a permanent change! I say he was just resting all three of them. He could not be mad at Gomez's performance and probably not at Mueller or Podolski. Also many people think it was bad timing! I actually do too. Why in the world would you change 3 people in the quarter finals. Maybe when they only needed one point in the last group game it might have been okay, but when you had won every game in the group of death with that team, you should keep playing them. Especially in the quarter finals!!! Now down to the game! In the first half the German Captain, Phillip Lahm struck one in! Then in the second half Greece came out and scored tying the game up 1-1!! But then Germany kicked in and Kheidera at 61 scored. Then in the 69th minute off a free kick Klose headed one in. Reus, one of the three that was put in scored! Hey look!!! It's my predicted score 4-1, surely it's going to end like that! Oh wait Boetang decides to hand ball it in the box! 4-2 Germany after the penalty and that's how it ended! Germany to the semi finals!

Well got to go!!! Bye

Man U Napping???

Yesterday in the first quarter final match, my prediction of who would win was correct, the score not so much. The first goal took a while do come in the game. In took Ronaldo 79 minutes to head one into the back of the net. He was behind a defender when the cross came in and instead of the defender remembering about Ronaldo he was ball watching and thought the ball was going to come right to him. Then Ronaldo, like a Ferrari, went from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds and ran in front of the ball watcher. Ronaldo then headed the ball hard on the ground and it bounced up into the net. I think Cech might have got some fingertips on the ball. That is how the game ended Portugal defeats Czech Republic 1-0! My score was 2-1 Portugal that wasn't too bad. Portugal advances to the Semi Finals!

Hulk has confirmed that he would like to join Chelsea and join them at a fee of 38 million pounds. In Spain Real Madrid has said they would like to buy the Tottenham striker Luka Modric for a fee of 30 Million Pounds. Manchester United was looking at the Croatian too, but Real Madrid says they have caught Man U napping and will get Modric.

Today's Quarter Final match is Germany vs Greece! As I said yesterday this one might get a little ugly. I got Germany winning 4-1!

Sorry that today's blog was a bit short I have a few things to do. Also there maybe a chance that I will not be able to write tomorrow. Sunday, if I do write, it will probably be a little later in the day!

Good Bye!!

Euro Quarter Final Predictions

If you are in a hurry and don't have time to read the whole blog and just want to see my predictions, scroll to the bottom of the page where they are just plainly said and you don't have to read all about my prediction!

First before my big Euro 2012 Quarter Finals predictions, we'll have some news. Who other than Manchester City would be in the transfer gossip. They are looking at the Spanish striker Fernando Llorente from the team Athletic Bilbao. Bilbao said they will NOT sell him at a very low price since he had a very good season for them scoring 29 goals. There starting number is about 30 Million Pounds or around 47 Million Dollars. The Bundesliga's schedules for the 2012/2013 season are set to be released June 26th. In
Serie A news, Mathieu Flamini is probably going to leave his club AC Milan.

Now its time for what we all have been waiting for!!! My Quarter Finals Prediction's. First lets start with the game that is played today. Petr Cech and Czech Republic take on Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal. Well Czech Republic started off the tournament very shaky to a team that did not even advance to the quarter finals! They lost 4-1 to Russia, but then started a 2 game winning streak to win the group. Unfortunately for the Czech's they win the group and have to go to face Portugal. Portugal started the tournament a little slow even though they were the underdogs against Germany. Cristiano Ronaldo started off even slower than his team. He did not score any goals for Portugal until the last game of the group stage, but they where 2 big ones. Portugal's roster is better than the Czech Republic's but they still will have to watch out the Czech's quick strikers and maybe even their returning captain, Thomas Rosicky. In the end Portugal with a much better defense, and a little edge in attackers will win the game 2-1. Portugal advancing to the semi-finals!

The next Quarter Final match-up will be one of the tournaments favorites Germany vs Greece. I feel sorry for Greece because I have a feeling, Germany is going to win this game and win it big. Germany won all 3 group games in the Group of Death! Come on now the Group of Death!! While Greece had a tougher road. I mean Germany had a super tough road, but made it look easy. Greece fell behind to Poland in the first game and got to end the game with a tie. Then Greece lost against Czech Republic and on the last day of the tournament everything had to go right from them (as you might remember from my blog Grecian Formula). Germany has an advantage at almost every position and has depth on their bench too. This one may get ugly or if Greece is lucky not that ugly. Germany wins this one 4-1! Germany advances to the semi-finals!

The Quarter Final match that comes up next is what I really waiting to see. It is the defending champions Spain vs a very good French side. I am for France and think this will be a great a game. One of the main keys for France is to make sure that Karim Benzema stays higher than the rest of the team, instead of dropping a little back like he is playing midfield. He did this once or twice last game (he should have done it the whole game) and it opened up Ribery and Nasri. France started off the tournament playing a way better game then England but ended up tying. Then they beat Ukraine, but the last game was very scary for me because if Sweden can beat them like that then of course Spain can too. Spain tied their first game against an okay Italian side. Then they handled Ireland like they should. Lastly, they almost got eliminated by Croatia but escaped with a narrow win. Their midfield is the best in the world, they are amazing that is all that has to be said, Spain wins 2-1! Spain advances to semifinals!

The last and final Quarter Final game is England vs Italy. If this game would have been played as the first group game I would have picked Italy! Now that England has Wayne Rooney back they should do fine. Also, they did way better than I expected them to do in the group stage! I said earlier that they might not even have a chance of making it through the Group stage, and look at them! They won it!! Italy is just not as good as they used to be a Mean Mario will probably, if he starts, get a red card or something. We all know it has to happen at some point! I got England winning this one 3-2! England advances to semifinals!

Portugal beats Czech Republic 2-1
Germany beats Greece 4-1
Spain beats France 2-1
England beats Italy 3-2

Well that is it for this morning! Have fun watching the Portugal vs Czech Republic game!

Adidas, Nike or Puma? Ronaldo a better goalie than Valdes?

HAHA!! Today I'm on a laptop where I am staying and the WIFI is in top form! The video above is about where Robin Van Persie learned and practiced soccer in the Netherlands and his start. It is a nicely done video by Adidas and hope you enjoy. Don't worry you Arsenal haters it is about his roots and start, not his Arsenal career.

When Cristiano Ronaldo was walking off the field after playing Denmark, the fans chanted Messi, Messi at him. Ronaldo was VERY VERY ANGRY (different from Mario Gomez being VERY VERY HAPPY). Then Barcelona's president tried to fuel the rivalry even more between the two Spanish big boys Real Madrid and Barcelona by saying Ronaldo would not even make the starting XI (11) at Barcelona. He went on to say Ronaldo is the 12th best player in the world! I mean but look at it, where would you put the Portuguese faker on Barcelona? They have excellent right and left wingers and even better when David Villa comes back. And of course your not going to put him at striker and leave out Messi. Then Barcelona has like the best midfield in the world, so I really don't think you could put him there. I guess you could put him at goalkeeper there is a chance he could be better than the horrible Victor Valdes.

So lately I've started noticing the different brands that are on teams jersey's. Well like who makes there jerseys and all their merchandise and stuff. You know there are the big boy companies like the soccer kings pretty much like Adidas, Nike or Puma. But then you have littler ones like Umbro! Who the heck is Umbro anyway. Well I guess they have to be somewhat good since they make England, Ireland, and Sweden's jerseys. You might be wondering where I'm going with this. Well my thing is, which is really better? I am a Puma guy. I like there logo,  there training jersey's are nice. I wear Puma cleats and have Puma shorts, along with a Puma ball! But then some people like Nike or Adidas! Nike seems to come out with a few things then Adidas seems to try to copy it or make it better. When Nike released their dri-fit technology, a few weeks later Adidas came out with Clima-Cool. Both are different materials, but designed to do the same thing. Nike came out with this chip to put in your shoe and it tells you data about how much you've ran and other stats like that. Then just recently they have been telling about Smart Soccer the chip for your Adidas soccer shoe! So yes Nike might have a little advantage there. But then what if Adidas's soccer boots are better and nicer. Which I think they are. I've also noticed that most players in Pro Soccer wear Adidas cleats, more than they wear Nike, Puma and of course Umbro (do they even make cleats??). Xavi, Van Persie, and many others wear Adidas cleats, but then Mario Gomez comes out of the tunnel in Pumas :) ! So which is really better? Lastly its not like all the big name teams wear the same brand. Bayern Munich wears Adidas, Arsenal Nike, and Newcastle Puma. So in the end I guess it is all personal opinion. I will always mostly be a Puma guy throwing in Adidas and Nike. (But probably never Umbro)

Well that is it for today! Tomorrow a preview of the quarter finals in the Euro 2012 tournament!

Ah! The WIFI is acting up!

Today I was going to try to give you news about something other than the European Championships, but today the WI-FI where I'm at has decided to act up and I can't surf the Internet and we also where I'll be staying the next few days we have no soccer channels! But that's alright because we can talk about all sorts of stuff!!

Spain won 1-0! Croatia played them a nice game, but Spain won. Italy beat Ireland 2-0. Spain and Italy advance to the quarter finals. Today Wayne Rooney returns for England vs Ukraine and Sweden plays France!

In the 2011/2012 season two Dutch players got a scoring title! One in the Premier League, Robin Van Persie and in the Bundesliga, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar!

Well that's pretty much it, a little Euro and a fact about this years season!
Maybe tomorrow the WI-FI will not act up!

Bendter's Underwear and Group B

Yesterday's blog had a few errors, I blame that on this app, but anyways! Yesterday was the big conclusion of the Group of Death at Euro 2012. The matches, like all the final group matches will, kicked off at the same time so no team could have an advantage!

Hold on, before we get to the conclusion of Group B, let's have some news. Well Nicklas Bendter has been suspended and fined for showing his underwear on a celebration after scoring his second goal vs Portugal! He will be suspended for Denmark's next 2014 World Cup match he is eligible for. He was fined 100,000 euros (£80,000). Bendter said they where just a pair of lucky boxer shorts he had no idea he was breaking any rules.

The Netherlands had to beat Portugal by 2+ plus goals and had to have Germany win. It looked very promising for the Netherlands when Van der Vart took an excellent strike with his left foot and got them the lead in the 10th minute! That goal was assisted by none other than Arjen Robben who looked very good yesterday. He had lots of space since Ronaldo would not get back and play defense. Robben looked for passes instead of taking to many shots. But then in the 27th minute the captain of Portugal decided to score his first goal of the tournament and tie it up.(Ronaldo). In the second half The Netherlands needed to score 2 and hold Portugal to scoring no more, but the Netherlands could not seem to find the back of the net. Cristiano Ronaldo who scored his 1st goal earlier put the Netherlands away with another goal! The Netherlands, probably the 3rd favorites in the tournament were eliminated with 0 points in the group.

I didn't really watch the other the game for the Netherlands is my favorite team , but I heard the Lukas Podolski scored Germany's first goal. Then later Krohn Deli tied it up for Denmark! But 10 minutes from the end Lars Bender won the game for Germany! Germany and and Portugal advance to the quarter finals!

Grecian Formula

I'm writing from this really bad blogger app and will be for the next few days!

Yesterday in Group A, everything had to go right for the Greeks, and it did! First needed Czech Republic to win. And the Czech's needed themselves to win if they wanted to advance. It looked very bad for Czech Republic in the first half, because Poland had many chances. But then in the second half, the Poland side seemed to come out and not try their hardest! Czech Republic had almost total control. The breakthrough for the Czech's happened when Petr Jiracek struck one in past Poland's back up goalkeeper (I was very sad they didn't bring Szczeny back in). The game ended 1-0 Czech Republic. The Czech Republic advanced with six points.

But the Greeks still had to take care of their business. They had to beat Russia and hope the Czech Republic won, well we know they did! Russia needed a tie or a win and a Poland loss. Well since the games where played at the same time of course, they didn't know Poland lost. All thu had to do was tie! Just a few seconds before half time Karagounis made a nice finish to get Greece the lead. Now where Karagounis finishes the shot is the same spot Mario Balotelli let's a defender steal the ball away from him in the Spain game. Not that I hate Balotelli (oh wait I do hate him) but he is clearly overrated! The game ended 1-0 and because of the head to head tiebreaker, Greece advances instead of Russia. Now if it was goal difference Russia would have advanced. So Czech Republic wins the Group and Greece advances with them on their way to the quarter finals.

Today the Group of Death concludes. Germany has not yet advanced, bu they are in the drivers seat to win the group! All the Netherlands have to do to advance is beat Portugal by 2+ goals and hope Germany wins! With the Netherlands latest form, I think thy probably will not beat Portugal by 2+ goals!

Good Bye!!!

Theo Walcott Saves England!!!!!!

Yesterday the Euro 2012 tournament started off exciting! After about 4 minutes of play, they had to suspend the France vs Ukraine game for very heavy rain and extreme lightning. (They all knew the lighting was real when Frank Ribery fell to the ground :). When play resumed after a 57 minute delay the game stayed tied through the first half, France having more chances. Then about 7 or 8 minutes in to the second half Jeremy Menez  scored for France putting them up 1-0. Then about 3 minutes later Yohan Cabaye decided he should score! 2-0 France, and thats how it ended! If you ask me, France has looked one of the most impressive sides this tournament, besides Germany.

Then the second game of the day was one of the most exciting of the tournament, and the Arsenal man Theo Walcott had an amazing game off the bench. This was like a knockout game for Sweden they had to atleast tie if they wanted a chance to advance. The scoring opened up earlier in this game when in the 23 minute Andy Carroll elevated off the pitch and headed one into the net. The game went into half time 1-0, but the excitement hadn't come yet! A few minutes out of the gate and in the 48th minute Olof Mellberg scored and tied up the game 1-1. Then almost exactly 10 minutes later Olof Mellberg  decided he wanted another one and got it too. Now Sweden was up 2-1! Then the player of the game came on for James Milner in the 59th minute. Theo Walcott. Then in the 63rd minute from outside the box Theo scored a fantastic goal to make it 2-2. Then later on in the 77th minute Walcott out paced the Sweden defence and made a nice cross into the box. Danny Welbeck made an even nicer finish. He was spining in the air and back heeled/calfed it into the goal. Theo made another nice cross later, but Sweden's goalkeeper made a nice save. England won 3-2! Sweden they are out, but they do have a chance to end somebody else's tournament dreams.

There is really not that much news out there that I could find. Just that Dani Alves is happy to stay at Barcelona and thats about it. Maybe the soccer world will produce more news today or tomorrow! '
Good Bye!

Oh, Arjen Robben

Today we take a look at a player mostly eveybody hates, but only a few people like him! His name is Arjen Robben. Most people thing he is a selfish player, who doesn't ever look up and takes curling left-footed strikes at the goal, when he could clearly pass it. Now I actually like Robben and think he does have some fancy footwork, great passing ABILITY, and an amazing shooter. Arjen Robben

Arjen Robben was born in Bedum, Netherlands on January 23, 1984. He went on to play on the youth club vvBedum. Then Robben started his proffesional career in the 2001/2002 season at
FC Groningen. After one season with them he moved on to another team, PSV Eindhoven. Later, after two seasons with them he went to a more famous club we all know, Chelsea FC. In the 04/05 season he missed the run to the UEFA Champions League Semifinals, with an injury. His injury problems has been one of the weaknesses of his career. After three seasons with the English Premier League Club Chelsea, he moved on to the La Liga team Real Madrid. Then after two seasons with them he finally moved on to the team where he is today, Bayern Munich. Some say that he has been at his best at Bayern Munich, even though he did have an injury earlier this season. He helped lead Bayern Munich to the double in the 2009/2010 season.

Now that we have a little background on Arjen Robben we can look at stats and why everybody pretty much hates him! This year Arjen Robben had 12 goals and 5 assists in Bundesliga play. He did not make the top 20 in assists, but was tied for 12th in the league top scorers. So yes, I guess you could say in the 11/12 Bundesliga season Robben was for selfish that others since Frank Ribery had 12 assists and 12 goals and Klaas-Haan Huntelaar had 29 goals and 8 assists. But if you go back a season Robben had 12 goals with 8 assists. So he is not all selfish. Another huge reason people hate him is he can not always finish under pressure. He missed a penalty kick against Dortmund this season which pretty much ruined Bayern's chances of a title. He missed one in the Champion's league final. But then you also have to remember that he made one against Real Madrid in the Semi-Finals! Then you could go to his injury record over the years, but I would say he has improved the last two years. His performance for his national team has not always been great, but look at everybody else this year in the Euro 2012 for the Netherlands, they haven't exactly been up to their high standards. So there is really no way to tell if you should hate or love Arjen Robben. I would say I love the ability that he has to dribble around people, do fancy passes, and take nice strikes at the goal. But if you want to say that he is selfish and he just wants personal glory the choice is up to you!

Well that's it today, France plays Ukraine later. Then after that its England vs Swedeen!

THE DEATH GROUP

Hello and a top of the mornin' to ya laddy! Yesterdays Euro matches in the Group of Death where just as they where said to be! The Denmark vs. Portugal game  was very exctiting and one of my favorites from the tournament so far. The game started with Portugal having a lot of the possesion and a few chances. Then on a corner kick in the 24 minute the Portugal defender Pepe headed in a goal. 1-0 Portugal! Portugal really needed a win here if they wanted a chance to escape the Group of Death. Later on in the match Luis Nani recieved the ball and then played a beautiful pass to the foot of striker Helder Postiga. Postiga calmly put it into the top right corner with a good finish. Portugal had seemed to have taken the game over! Or did they? About five minutes befor halftime the greatest striker in the world (or so he thinks) recieved a great pass that was delivered via header by Michael Krohn-Delhi. Nicklas Bendtner headed it in and the game was now 2-1 Portugal. Then in the 79th minute the best striker in the world returned again with another headed goal! Denmark had now tied up Portugal 2-2!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the game was not yet over. In the 86th minute a goal came from an unexspected hero for Portugal, Silvestre Varela! The game ended 3-2 Portugal, leaving the standings in the group Germany 3 points, Denmark 3 points and Portugal 3 points. The Netherlands with a surprising 0 points.

That leads us into the second game of the day in the death group. Germany vs Netherlands! Netherlands, after a very dissapointing performance to Denmark in their fist game, really needed a win here. That dream started looking very bad for them when in the 23rd minute the VERY VERY HAPPY Mario Gomez put Germany up 1-0. Then to make things worse for the Netherlands, in the 37th minute Mario Gomez put another one in the back of the net to make it 2-0 for Germany. The Germans had surely won it now!!!! The Germany side had a way way way way better first half then the Netherlands. After the first half, Germany really did deserve to win the game. The bright orange Netherlands left the field with their heads down. In the second half Germany was still much better then the Netherlands. Later on though in the 68th minute the Netherlands, started to look like their old selves again and in the 72nd minute the Arsenal man, Robin Van Persie struck in a goal with his "weaker" right foot. This good spell for the Netherlands lasted very short and Germany soon took control again. Arjen Robben still wanted to play when he was subbed out, but he did make a quick exit by jumping over a electronic board so Kuyt could come on quickly. Then he walked his way to the bench. At some point late in the game, the goalie for the Netherlands, made a horrible play and almost let Germany's Klose put one in. Later Boetang got a yellow card for time wasting and will be out next game for getting two yellow cards in two matches.

In transfer news the American International player Terrence Boyd has left the Bundesliga champion team Dortmund. He could not place a spot in their first team, but did score 20 goals and 5 assists to help Dortmund's reserve team to a division win! He is now going to play in Austria for Rapid Vienna. To me, since I'm from the United States, it is good to see that some of our national players are playing outside of the United States and not just in the MLS. Also like I said yesterday Arsenal is going to sign the French striker Olivier Giroud. The BBC Football page just picked up on this story yesterday, so I'm happy that I got to the story before them!! If Van Persie stayed at Arsenal, this would leave our front three all left footed, Podolski, Van Persie, Giroud.

Well that about wraps it up for todays Just Plain Football (soccer) blog!!Oh by the way Mesut Ozil had a great first two games for Germany and so did his teamate Schweinsteiger!!

Bundesliga, La Liga, and EPL all in one!!!

Happy Wednesday! The last few days my blog has been on the downside a little, with not much detail or really any news at all! Today I will try to improve that!!!!! We will start with news from the Bundesliga, La Liga, and Barclays Premier League.

The always VERY VERY HAPPY Mario Gomez took criticism from Bayern Munich's future reserve team coach. The former German International player said " (he had) certainly seen people run more, but rarely anybody run less." Mehmet Scholl was talking about Mario's performance against Portugal. Apperently a winning goal was not good enough for Mr. Scholl, but of course Mario stayed VERY VERY HAPPY. The Germany head coach, Joachim Low said that Mario played a very strong and solid game and of course scored the winning goal.

*NOTABLE PLAYERS BUNDESLIGA EURO 2012 GROUP A*
In yesterdays matches in Group A, Poland fell behind to to Russia on a beautiful free kick taken by Andre Arshavin headed in by another Russian player. Poland would really need to get a point here if they wanted a chance to advance, and that chance came when the Dortmund man Jakub Blaszczyowski hit an unstoppable strike into the corner of the net. Wolfsburg player Petr Jiracek put the Czech Republic side up 1-0 in the third minute. Czech Republic went on to win 2-1.

In La Liga news, the German striker Klose was linked with transfer rumors to Barcelona. The Lazio sporting director said that there would be no way that the 34 year old would be leaving the Lazio team. Lazio has not yet recieved any offers for Klose, but said even if they do, they will not sell him for he is a crucial player to their team. Manchester United has looked at Real Madrid's striker Karim Benzema. (They actually have for the past three or four seasons). Benzema's contract at Real Madrid does not end till 2015 and he said that he will try to achieve with Real Madrid before even thinking about leaving. He said even though he has won the Spanish League title he would still like to achieve more with the club.

Arsenal are very close to signing the Frenchman Oliver Giroud. Oliver would love to play in England and Arsenal are very interested, says Rene Girard. If Giroud comes to The Arsenal he would be joining Lukas Podolski as the new editions to Arsenal. Remeber that player that Arsenal was trying to sign?? Well he has gone to Manchester United! The 18 year old helped his team Crewe Alexandra with 16 goals in 45 appearances.

Euro, no other news

Yesterday I was doing something with a friend so this blog will be kinda low on news, well really no news at all.

The Euro 2012 tournament featured England vs France and Sweeden Vs. Ukraine! England was outplayed by a better French team, but luckily for England they escaped with a point.England scored the first goal on a header by Julian Lescott. Then Samir Nasari Took a wonderful strike and tied the game up. France had the better game and should have won it. I didn't watch the Ukraine vs Sweeden game, but Ukraine won 2-1.

Tomorrow I hope to have way more news and more detail about today's matches!!!!

The Poor Irish

Well yesterday we can clearly tell that Ireland's Football team is just not like it was in 1988. The team that Jack Charlton brought to the Euro Championship in 1988 defeated England. They did it one to zero and got into the quarter finals. Yesterday though they lost 3-1. One goal Shay Given should have stopped and one goal bounced off his head. So clearly Ireland did not have their luck yesterday. They did score a nice goal on their free kick. If there was a record for the most goals scored by heading in a game yesterday 3 of the 4 goals where scored by heads! The Euros are probably over for the Irish, because their next games are against Spain and Italy. Speaking of Spain and Italy, they tied 1-1 in a rather slow game in the beginning, which picked up in the second half. Croatia now leads the group with 3 points!

Today England plays France!
Ukraine vs Sweeden!
Till Tomorrow!!

Dutch Down Gomez Very Happy

First we will start with news not about Euro 2012. Robin Van Persie's dad, who's name is Bob, said he will not go to another English Premier League team or one of the big Spanish teams like Real Madrid or Barcleona. I hope Robin listens to his dad, greatly named Bob.

Now on to yesterdays matches. The Netherlands took the pitch against Denmark and had a very dissapointing match. They started off good attacking the Danish goal, but couldnt convert on any chances. Then in the 23rd minute a ball was passed off a dutch defender and  Michael Krohn-Delhi retrived the ball, dribbled past the defense and shot inbetween Stenklenburgs legs. Denmark 1 Netherlands 0. Some time later in the game when the Danish fans where Ole-ing every pass the Denmark goalie got a little crazy and passsed it right to Arjen Robben who took a shot and it hit the left post. A goal should have been scored right there. Van Persie had many chances, and two he should have scored on, or got on target. Then Klaas Jaan Huntelaar had a perfect pass played to him, but couldnt convert on the shot. The game ended 1-0 Denmark, the Netherlands most likely out of the group of death.

The next game in the group of death was the team I predicted to win Germany, against Portugal. It was a pretty even game most of the time. Germany had a little more chances. Early in the game Ronaldo did 500 step overs to get past Boetang, but of course no goal was scored. Right at half time Pepe took a shot that hit the crossbar and went down onto the goal line, but only part of the ball went over, so it was rightly called not a goal. In the 71st minute a cross came in and Mario Gomez headed it perfectly in for a goal!!!!!! Mario Gomez celebrated greatly, for he was VERY VERY HAPPY!!!!!!!!! It was now 1-0 Germany. Portugal had many chances late, one had to be stopped by a tackle of the year from Boetang. Also a save from Manuel Neuer, was required later on. The game ended 1-0 Germany!!!

MARIO GOMEZ BEING VERY VERY HAPPY!!!!!
Todays matches include Spain vs. Italy
Ireland vs Croatia

Have a nice Sunday and always remember
Mario Gomez is Very Very Happy!

Euro and Red Cards

The first day of the Euro 2012 started exciting with a ref. who couldnt stop pulling out cards. If you where a Russian fan you must of been happy in the second game!

Well, first with the Poland vs. Greece game. In the first half the host nation, Poland got off to an expected start. They had many chances at the Greek goal and in the 17 minute Lewandowski scored on a great cross. The greek goalkeeper tried to come out, but got nowhere close to the ball. Sokratis Papastathopoulos was booked with a yellow card, that he should have never got booked with. A pretty dissapointing first half for Greece ended with an even worse blow when Sokratis Papastathopoulos got his second yellow and was sent off. This foul should have not caused a yellow either, but apperantly the ref had lost his mind!  The La Liga ref gave 16 red cards in 19 games in the La Liga matches! In the second half it went all down hill for the Polish. You would think since Greece had 10 men Poland could win, but that wasnt the case. The Arsenal goalie Wojciech Szczesny came out to get the ball on a cross and his defender blocked it instead. The deflected ball went to the feet of a Greek player who struck it in. Then to make it worse for Szczesny, he charged a chip pass and got all foot of the Greek attacker and was sent off with a red card. Luckily, and amazingly, the back up goalie saved the penalty kick and the game ended 1-1.

I didnt get to watch the second game becuase I had a lot to do. I did get to see the first goal, which I thought was good play by the Russians. Later the game ended Russia 4 Czech Republic 1. That was way off from my 2-1 Russia win. The left winger Arshavin for Arsenal did not get a goal, but I do not know if he got any assists.

Tomorrow the group of death starts! It has my favorite team the Netherlands in there, so I will be watching.

Bye, Watch the Netherlands!

Sad News and Stupid Chelsea

Well today I am writing my blog from this horrible blogger app, so I have no idea how this will go!

First, let's start with the sad news. Jermain Defoe's dad has died and so he has left Poland/Ukraine to fly back.
He plans to join England at a later stage (If they even get that far). The new Coach for Villarreal, Manuel Preciado, has died of a heart attack.

Stupid ole Chelsea is in the transfer talk again (I guess they are turning into Man City). They are trying to buy the Belgium man from Everton, Marounane
Fellaini. If they get him and Hulk, for sure Fernando Torres is out! QPR and Arsenal are both looking to buy a striker who just promoted his league 1 team!

Tomorrow the Euro 2012 starts!!! I have been waiting for this tournament!! Some people don't get all hyped up for international tournaments, but as you can see I do!!! Sorry for the lack of German and Spanish League news. I will try to improve that. If you know any good sources please tell me!

Have a nice Thursday!!!

Little News... Hey Arsenal Has Contract Talk News!!

Well, the title pretty much says it all. There is little news today. Mostly becuase I was too lazy to read or watch anything, but I do have some news!

Firstly, Shinji Kagawa, has confirmed he is going to Mancherster United. Arsenal actually looked at the Bourssia Dortmond man, but I guess could not come up with an offer. So now Man U has him. Who knows what will happen to Park, the Korean who plays for Man U. Some people think they will get rid of him with the signing of Kagawa. Arsenal is discussing contract improvements with Mikel Arteta. Mikel had a great season at midfield for us, unfourtantly he got injured at the end of the year. He thinks and I do to, for his amazing efforts this year, he should get a raise. We will see what comes out of that.

In the intersting new about me, I recieved my Aresenal jersey in the mail today. I preordered it from Arsenal Direct and it arrived today. The 2012/2013 kit is one of our best,to me, in the last few years. I hope I get good use out of wearing this one!!

Till' Tomorrow!

Boring Old Transfers and Euro 2012

Good Morning!!!!!! Well, I'm sorry to say todays blog is mostly about the England National Team and Chelsea. But, later on, we will have a little about the Euro 2012 and other transfer news.

England has a chance of winning the Euro 2012 tournament, but over the past few weeks that chance has gone plummeting down. Firstly, Frank Lampard, their captain will be out. He declared himself not fit to play after suffering a minor injury. Then a few days ago in England's friendly against the Belgiums, Gary Cahill was pushed into Joe Hart by Dries Mertens. This resulted in a broken jaw for Gary Cahill, ruling him out for the Euro's. Now that's not it either. One more thing will surely lead to the fall of England. Their new manager Roy Hodgson will not play Rio Ferdinand. Rio has much more experiance and this will most likely be his last chance to go to a Euro Championship. For some reason, no matter what, he will not play Rio. He says,"just for footballing reasons." Well after the Cahill injury everybody thought Rio had to come in off the bench, but Hodgson put in a lesser experianced Martin Kelly. We must not forget Wayne Rooney will miss the first two games on a red card

Mean while Chelsea is hogging up the transfer news. They have confirmed the signing with Eden Hazard and are closing in with a deal on Hulk. They are leaving poor Fernado Torres out in the dust. But thats just the kind of people they are!!! Maybe they are leaving poor Torres out because he only scored as many goals this season (Champions League Combined) as Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen. My favorite team Arsenal, as always, has boring transfer news. Our oustanding forward Robin Van Persie will not talk till after Euros.

Now, finally, to Euro 2012! First off, David Villa is missing the tournament for Spain, after suffering a broken leg in the regular season. He said he would not be back into shape for the tournament. In the end for Spain it won't really matter. They are almost invincable, after all. My prediction is the Germany will win the tournament. Even though they have the death group in the Euro's, they have a great squad with 8 of Bayern Munich's players. They will beat the Netherlands in the finals (a rematch of their group) of a score 4-3.

Yay I Created A Blog and Season Review

Well, I started a blog! This blog will be totally devoted to the great game of football, or to you Americans, soccer! Almost everything, everyday will be totally about soccer! Stretching from pro leagues like the English Premier League, all the way to U14 rec. play! I hope this blog entertains you or gives you updates about your favorite team, players, etc. If you would like to check out another soccer blog, this one totally about Chelsea :( , the my friend Adam Fletcher has a nice blog you may want to check out.Chelsea Facts.

Now lets start with a season review! In the English Premier league, the most amazing team Arsenal (my favorite team, just incase you couldn't tell) finished in a respectable third, after a horrible start to the season. The horrible cheating team of Manchester City, who buys all their players, came in first. They did it by the slighest of margins, only beating their cross town rivals by goal differential. This was a horrible blow to me, being for Manchester United in the title race. In fourth place were the  Tottenham Hotspur. For those of you who don't know, finishing in the top four of the English Premier League, you get to play in a huge European tournament next year called the UEFA Champions League. This gives your team a 50 Million Pound Bonus. In US Dollars that is about 76 Million. So my favorite team Arsenal is in the Champions League!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our North London rivals Tottenham would be too, but Chelsea got the spot. You might be asking how the chessy sausage did that happen! Well in this years Champions League, Chelsea had to win the whole tournament to get the fourth place spot in the Premier League. Unfortuantly, for people like me who hate Chelsea, they beat Bayern Munich in the finals. The final score being 1-1 in regulation and 4-3 in penalties. So that about wraps up the top of the standings in the English Premier League Standings. Sorry if you where a fan of other leagues across the world I will try to cover them soon.

Not that any of you will care, but here is a short season review of my recreational team, Lakewood Football Club. It was a rather dissapointing season if you look at our record 1-3-3. One win, three ties, and 3 loses. But, we have inproved greatly and will hopefully have a great fall season. We will have more chances, since we plan to be in tournaments this fall!

Tomorrow, a look at the Euro 2012!
